Nasty piece of work but ... savage?
Question Author
it's a standing joke talbot, all a bit TIC
She was only jailed because she was already serving a suspended sentence. The court just activated the sentence she had already recieved, that is what the jail term was for not road rage.

yes well she's off the streets anyway.
I entirely agree TTT, and I said so at the time....nasty, gobby piece of work.
Celebrity Big Brother next year? :P
Celebrity Jungle X Factor, I think.
Not only was she gobby, she was also stupid.

She must have known who Vine was, and she must have known that he was filming her, but she still continued the verbal assault.
I thought she was jailed in April?

Yes he is generous, one nasty woman.
I think Vine is being far too forgiving.
What can you say, she deserved it.
Well it is nice to see mikey joining in with the standing joke

I must admit I am slightly perplexed about the 'standing joke' though.
“If he were to have a similar encounter now, he would just let it go, Vine said.”

Mr Vine is, alas, not made of the stuff Britain needs more of. The reason that many people behave in the way Ms Pearson did is because (a) they know that their victims rarely want to “press charges” (even though the choice is not theirs), (b) if they do it is unlikely a prosecution will follow and (c) even if it does it is unlikely that a meaningful and appropriate sentence will be handed down.

In her case a reasonable sentence was available purely by luck. (Well, the nine months nominal sentence could be said to be reasonable. The nine weeks she will serve before being released on “Home Detention Curfew”, maybe not). Of course Mr Vine was not to know of her suspended sentence but it seems that if he had he may have been less keen to “press charges”. As an aside this demonstrates the iniquity of suspended sentences. Had she not committed the offence against Mr Vine, Ms Pearson would have had no appropriate punishment for her earlier offence. As it is, as Eddie explained, she has received a “BOGOF”.

Mr Vine said he would have been content with an apology. He is far too forgiving because as has been demonstrated by Ms Pearson, weak sentencing simply leads to more recidivism.
Good. Let's hope the next sentence she receives - yes, it's inevitable - will be a bit longer.
## She must have known who Vine was, ##

Why Mikey, not everybody watches egg-heads, or the other programmes he is on, with that annoying voice & his patronising style.
trt....then I will add ignorant to gobby and stupid then !
That includes me too, Mikey, because I had no idea who Mr Vine is (and still don't).

Anyway, what are you doing up at twenty past three in the morning? You're not going down to Lidl's to queue up for this week's booze offer, are you?
How on earth is it ignorant to not know who Jeremy Vine is - he's not a World leader Mikey.

Do keep some proportion in your replies.
NJ....not sleeping very well of late, and its nothing to do with booze.

Mamy.....I expect if Vine had been some D list celebrity, from pop music or perhaps a soap opera, this horrible women would have recognised him.

But leaving that aside, she must have realised that she was being filmed. Even if she wasn't aware of that, she must have known that her behaviour was completely wrong, so I am quite happy to leave my comment of "ignorant" and I will add stupid as well.
Your replies, so that's fair - it was more the implication that not knowing him added ignorant to the list of her non attributes.

Anyway, let's hope she has learned from this - I presume she's out and about again.
