Another terrorist attack would be a deliberate odious act of aggression.
I would say a terrorist attack. It's all copycats now.
Both?

How very astute of you naomi

That comment was all about the reluctance these days to name such acts as 'terrorism'.
aog, I'm not reluctant to call terrorism 'terrorism'. For the record I think this was an act of terrorism.

And nether did I suggest you were.

I was of cause referring to the local mayor and others like him, who seem so reluctant these days to mention terrorism.

'not reluctant' apologies for the repeated words.
Yet another case of a vehicle being used as a weapon.
Probably terrorist related but until further details emerge it *may* be a completely out of proportion response to some perceived slight, or other....
There are a number of uncertainties, and it's obviously too soon to guess the motivation.

However, there is one thing which is highly probable: the perpetrator has a history of mental illness. And one thing which is certain: the attack had nothing to do with Islam.
Definitely the first and they are working on the second which is highly likely - but I shan't speculate.
I can see why people like the local Mayor dont want the label of terrorism, it must be starting to affect Cities like Paris in tourism etc.

On the other hand this constant use of 'mental illness', 'Lone wolf', 'nothing to do with Islam' etc breeds conspiracy theories meaning no one then believes the authorities, the first step to civil unrest.

And of course, no one wants to upset Obergruppenführer Merkle do they?
Let's hope it's him and he's off the streets.
"an attack that authorities said bore the stamp of terrorism, the driver appeared to have lain in wait for the soldiers"
A bullet-riddled BMW stopped and held
Definitely a Terrorist Attack IMO!
