Exit Poll Suggests Tories Have Lost Majority
Answers
To be honest all, I can hardly be bothered for now. I spent 16 hours yesterday in a polling station doing the clerking and am crunched. But one thing for sure, I could have told you by 12noon that something big was happening. We are of course not allowed to communicate when on duty, but it was striking how many young first time voters were turning up. It was obvious...

Looks like May (and the Cons generally) misjudged the youth vote. Many young people didn't want Brexit and this snap election was an excellent way to 'voice' their opinion:
'The figures point to a sharp increase in young voters adding their names to the register, with around two-thirds – 453,000 – of the new voters to sign up on deadline day aged between 18 and 34.'

For Davis (the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union), a mandate from the people of Britain before the crucial talks with the EU next week, would have been an enticing prospect, and you can understand why he would have been strongly in favour of an election.
But the opposite to a mandate has occurred, and the people have taken away the Conservatives' majority.
Davis will instead go into the EU negotiations, with a severely weakened hand.

Bad night for the Tories. I like TM, but she has to go. Labour haven't done well in this election, rather the Tories have done badly (akin to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory).
I'm still struggling to understand why the centre left would vote for Corbyn. I get the 'my dad voted for them so so am I', I get the hard left and I get the youth vote (they'll learn), but I really really struggle to get why moderate Labour would still vote for a party with a leader that wants to lead them down the hard left route. Weird.
I am taking solace from the following;
1. Labour haven't won.
2. Jeremy Corbyn is not PM.
3. Mad McDonnell is not Chancellor.
4. Abbott, when she recovers from her 'illness', is not Home Secretary.
5. Therefore they cannot pass into law their absurd and in some cases manifestly unfair manifesto pledges.
6. I want to say that again - Jeremy Corbyn is not PM.
7. Tories will probably work with the DUP.
8. Labour cannot form a coalition with the SNP as Labour want Brexit, the SNP do not.
9. Same reasons as 3 for the Lib Dems.
It is not ideal, but we need to make the best of what we have for the next five years in the hope that between now and then the completely unfathomable Corbyn popularity has waned and he's gone to live in his communist utopia of North Korea.
I do not want another election.

Yes Gromit, predictions of a delayed Brexit are already being made:
