I wonder if there will be a countrywide minute's silence as there was for the Manchester victims?

I see what you are both saying and your comments make sense...maybe I am too literal but it would make more sense to me to call it something like a Coming together of the community rather than Remembering those who were hurt or lost their lives.....because we simply cannot remember those we didn't know

In the link posted the terms 'Pay respects', 'Tribute' and 'Honour' are also used - each appropriate in their own way.

Yes I think you are being a bit too literal in picking up on just the word 'Remember' but that doesn't mean you're wrong.

It's just an expression of respect. At such a dreadfully sad time, and in the wake of such terrible, needless, brutal slaughter, it's fitting.
