In light of what happened a week ago tonight, is this considered sensible (given who he plays for) or a little too 'in yer face' for those who blame his religion as a cause for such atrocities?

Chilli...I think that it quite reasonable, considering that he is a Muslim first and foremost and a footballer a secondary feature.
The Haj is essential for Muslims.
I was under the impression that Islam forbids the portrayal of the Kaaba ?

He's already performed the Hajj once though Sqad, that's why I'm asking if it's wise to emblazon it all over social media at this time.
It is entirely his decision, I don't see it as foolish at all.

I made an appointment last night to see my favoured Doctor, a marvellous and understanding man - he is on leave for Ramadan this year so I'm seeing one of his colleagues.

Fine by me.
I understand your point Chilli......but neither of us understands the need to attend the Haj...an almost obsessive compulsion.
Can I just say at this point that I have never heard of anyone called Pogba ?
He is a footballer, so I dont think he has to consider peoples feelings too much. if he was a Politician or similar then it might be considered a little insensitive.

... who plays for Manchester United. I have no problem with him doing his own thing.
I am still not entirely sure who this chap is but I think YMB has it right here....what business is it of ours if he chooses, of his own free will, to go to Mecca ?

I am not remotely bothered if he does or doesn't.

no I dont think so - you see it a lot on Chintzy wall hangings
and as muslims not liking photographs as they are images of humans- he weems to have got over that as well

well it is the start of Ramadan - or Wham! a dan
or bamma lamma dan ! so he is better out of it

Sqad he doesnt seem to be going on a Hagg - he has done that already - this one is an umrah which appears to be vol
Overvalued, overpaid & under-performed this season - he needs a break, bless & I suspect it's only that his pages are "followed" by media types that we know about his trip.

I doubt he's the only Muslim with a Manchester connection making the visit.
// what business is it of ours if he chooses, of his own free will, to go to Mecca ? //

erm umm will love this: and Nigh too
suppose Gerry - Gerry Adams that is - not Jeremy Kyle - went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes or Knock?
I would be inclined to shout: I hope you gonna confess before you go to Mass Gerry !

he has if the stories are right quite a lot to confess to.....

Back to Drogba - well it is not as though he is throwing a street party or anything ( sudduv bang bang chicken and rocket lettuce sarnies and bangers) or a barbie with fireworks at the end
Has Didier Drogba gone too?
He actually is called Drogba, Mamya ... Carl if I remember.

Beg pardon.
I'd love a link to Paul's name actually being Drogba if you have one.
Right, so we are back on track - the thread is about Paul Pogba (his name).

Daft wind ups aside.
A terrorist was responsible for the atrocity in Manchester not a Muslim doing Haj,
