I wish you'd realise that not only your palpable ignorance vexes Khandro and others, but it is your willingness to wallow in your ignorance, which is in incising frown lines into Khandro's forehead that no amount of Botox will eradicate.
You see, there are educated people like Khandro, and there are thick ignorant plebs like you and me, and we are spoiling the site for them because we insist on spouting off about things which we know nothing about, and getting in the way of them educating everyone to their level - well, approaching it anyway, we can't expect perfection in five minutes.
So perhaps you will join me in getting busy getting educated, and not wasting Khandro's (and others) time by messing up the area with uniformed uneducated opinions, because, well, frankly, it's just irritating.

Nothing at all wrong in men holding hands or walking arm in arm with their friends, it happens all the time in 'foreign parts', I have experienced it myself in India, and according to Charles Dickens it was commonplace in England circa 1840's, (don't know when it stopped).
They are talking about distasteful, overtly passionate public displays by homosexual males, - which I personally don't find particularly pleasant to observe in even hetero couples either.

I suspect that in any European town or village that has suddenly seen an influx of migrants would cause much consternation with the natives.
The decisions, of course, are taken by respective governments who do not seem to realise the repercussions of their actions of which the decision-makers will not be affected themselves.
You simply cannot expect integration to occur on large scales at the drop of a hat nor expect the natives to see their long preserved cultures placed at threat.
It is not racist to say that, it is common sense. People should not be afraid to convey their concerns for fear of being labelled a bigot.
The situation across Europe is going to deteriorate so there is a need for intelligent discussions at all levels to address the key issues.
We will get nowhere fast by accusing the locals who, in many cases like in the link, feel afraid to step out into the world which they were accustomed.
They should be listened to and not taken to task for their feeling of insecurity.
They may not always be right but neither are the powers that be that create these divisive conditions without a serious policy or efficient planning.

vortex- In terms of the concerns of people in a village who perceive (rightly or wrongly) than an influx of other people may cause them social issues - you make an absolutely valid point.
But concern is not the same as an attitude that says that a village will discourage people based on their ethnicity or orientation - that is not concern, that it bigotry.
The danger is allowing the legitimate concerns of one attitude to be used as an umbrella to facilitate the other attitude.

Andy I don't see anyone trying to belittle you, I really don't. I do not mean to be rude when I say you do seem to have a thin skin at times. Are you trying to belittle readers when you write how much you know about music? I don't think so.
Back to the subject, I see there are two muslim families living in the village who have integrated very well and are welcome to stay. Perhaps if they all did that there wouldn't be people feeling the need to create a (nearly) all white village.
