They both seem unable to grasp that being subjugated in the EU does not equal "independence"!

Perhaps they feel that being members of a mutual-benefit organisation is closer to independence than being subject to the whims of the rich and incompetent who are intent on destroying their school system, their health system, and becoming subjugated to a far more powerful country (the US), thus resulting in absolutely zero representation.
Which "mutual benefit organisation" would this be, then? You're surely not suggesting the EU is worthy of that title. What "mutual benefits" has the UK received from the EU which Scotland has not enjoyed from the UK?

I thought education and health were among the matters devolved to the Scottish Parliament.
