officer was a bit to quick to fire the taser, and didn't give proper warnings, as instructed in training.

I think I get it now.

If the police stop someone for whatever reason, they are quite entitled to ignore them and walk away, glad that's cleared up.
SnookerPlayer - //Suppose he was the suspect they were looking for and was armed. Should they just say, "sorry sir , never mind about telling us your name, on your way". //

But he wasn't the suspect - was he.

And he wasn't armed - unless you call a loaded finger a weapon of course.

I certainly have not said, or even inferred that.

The gentleman should have given his name, the police officer shouldn't have tasered him.

On the balance of possible outcomes, which do you think would be more likely to be potentially fatal?
But he wasn't the suspect - was he.

By refusing to give his details how the heck know he wasn't their suspect.

This is now getting silly. Time to bow out.

//The gentleman should have given his name//

Exactly!
So anyone that does not give their name can be tased?
Well, well, well....an unarmed black man tasered by the Police by mistake......who would have thought it possible ?
She also fired the Taser at this chaps face !

As far as I can ascertain, this chap wasn't any danger to the Police at the scene. He wasn't armed for instance, so why did the Officer use her taser ?

It boils down to this -

The man was stroppy and uncooperative, and should have given his name.

The police were seriously heavy-handed and should not have tasered him.

The difference is, the responsibility to be calm and behave appropriately rests far more with the police than it does with a private citizen.

And tasering was not necessary, could have been dangerous, and the officer was clearly unable to deal with the situation appropriately.
BA to Andy please !

Who needs the IPPC or whatever when everything can be sorted out here.

Feel sorry for her and I hope the dog was ok.
divebuddy - //I see you're a bit like Mikey, our police like nothing better than the chance to beat up black people, sort of thought process. //

Point 1 - I have never said or inferred that the police like to beat up black people, and that is an unfounded slur and you should apologise for it.

Since the sketch I was referring to is obviously satirical, my reference to it was not intended to be taken seriously.

// Makes any analysis of the rights and wrongs by you totally worthless. //

Makes humorous references to be read by someone who has no sense of humour totally worthless.

And before you start, this is not the beginning of another tedious endless spat with you or anyone else. I lost my last thread over it, I am not going to be drawn in again.
