That's how I see it Bazile, an obscene amount of money to spend on a pair of shoes for a three year old. Yes of course it's her choice, and that is your argument.
I just fear for the damage being done to this child.
What damage? She might rebel when she's older and start wearing tracksuits and trainers. Spending too much money on a child doesn't make you a bad parent.
can you not see what's happening here ummmm?
Yes...she's bringing up a child that might be a very material minded person.

She's loved, clean, fed.

I can think of much worse parenting skills.
Well how about being nobby no-mates for years.

And how about the damage done to her esteem when truth outs. And she aint good.

And what about the merciless bullying she is likely to endure now?
What about celebs? Are they all bad parents when they spend obscene amounts of money on their kids?
Young - this story will be long gone by then.
ummm, get with it, this is nothing to do with the money spent on her this is about the kid being brought up to be something her mum wants, not related to her ability. She will start to believe she is a superior being until she suffers 10+ years of brutal correction. This is an abused child make no mistake.
To put this in perspective -

This is a large amount to spend on a child's shoes which are obviously going to get damaged, because that is what children do - but that is the parent's choice.

To send a bill to another child's mother is ludicrous, and badly thought out, but that's all it is, nothing more than that.

I know Piers Morgan likes to see himself as a 'man of the people' - but there is nothing eddying about shouting a woman into tears because you don't agree with her behaviour.

I agree with the point he made - but utterly disagree with the volume and venom with which he made it.
Not my idea of abuse.
That's just about everything I wanted to say but didn't, Andy ;0)
Andy > I agree with the point he made - but utterly disagree with the volume and venom with which he made it.

Yes, I mean, it didn't warrant the same level meted out to Eric Bristow!
agchristie - //Andy > I agree with the point he made - but utterly disagree with the volume and venom with which he made it.

Yes, I mean, it didn't warrant the same level meted out to Eric Bristow! //

Slight difference - Eric Bristow has made a career out the assumed persona of an arrogant Cockney, and his workspace is a bear pit of boozy darts fans.

I think on that basis you could reasonable assume that Mr Bristow could hold his own in a spirited debate about his Neanderthal views - as indeed he did.
Sorry ag - it posed before I finished -

The other point to bear in mind is - the woman's 'crime against society' is based on a foolish ill-thought incident, which is not really on a par with a public figure spouting ugly ignorance about child abuse.

I thought he was a multi time world champion darts player ... you live and learn.
I guess the only similarity is that the mother and Bristow both talk a load of bull...
Talbot - //Slight difference - Eric Bristow has made a career out the assumed persona of an arrogant Cockney,

That is a well-known fact, and not relevant to the point I was making.

As anyone who has seen Bristow play in his pomp, he delighted in strutting around laughing at beaten players in his persona as 'The Crafty Cockney' - and I would take nothing away from his undoubted skill in his game.
Reminds me of my schooldays .

For footwear i had a pair of black pumps , along with a few others .

This kid ( whose parents obviously had a bit of dosh ) always had the latest trainers , costing £ 50 plus - not a lot these days - but at that time , it was a fortune to the likes of my parents
