Oh for god's sake, we are ladies, gentlemen, girls and boys. However we were born and decided to change. Es lo que hay!
Americans call females 'Miss' I like that - it makes me feel young.

Still is a great country.

Far too many people running it down in my opinion.

I wouldn't live anywhere else...but then again - I'm patriotic.
I agree...it is a great country.
It's very disheartening on here sometimes how the Country is run down, so much good to find here.

Wonderful traditions and great people.
Who has run the country down?

All this is a nonsense. Mr Khan is only copping it because he should not have been involved. It is something for internals not 'front page' news.

Unfortunately there are some who would change everything in our great country, they are the ones dragging it down and making us look like foos.
I'd also be very interested to know where this litlte Gem came from:
//55% of workplace facilities are now gender-neutral//

Unless of course you are including the myriad of very small businesses(eg shops) where it is only practical to have one bog?

I have working in numerous companies here and abroad and a one man band shop is the only place I have seen this. The same for restaurants/ pubs I have only seen this twice, once in a dodgy brick lane curry house and one in the Tranny Arms in Bruxelles.
Ymb,
I am guessing that the disabled toilet is classed as gender neutral. So business premises that comply with disabled legislation will make up the 55%.

No, you are just too young, to know it as it once was.

Where homosexuality was illegal
Where rationing was in force for several years longer than needed
Where it was acceptable for women to be treated as second class citizens
Where child abuse was not talked about and hidden and never dealt with
Where different colours were treated the same as something you had trod in

Shall I go on?

/// Where homosexuality was illegal ///

There were still homosexuals, they just were not silly enough to be caught in the act.

/// Where rationing was in force for several years longer than needed ///

And now there are food banks

/// Where it was acceptable for women to be treated as second class citizens ///

How far are you going back? Women where treated equally, in fact they had it better than men in some ways, men went down the mines, fought and died in foreign lands etc.

/// Where child abuse was not talked about and hidden and never dealt with ///

Due to there not being so many news outlets as there are today. But even today many are not dealt with, due to certain PC attitudes.

/// Where different colours were treated the same as something you had trod in ///

Untrue, we treated the turbaned carpet seller who came to our doors with welcoming affection.
'we treated the turbaned carpet seller who came to our doors with welcoming affection.'

Ah, so it's your doing that they see Britain as such a welcoming place eh?
How about "To whom it may concern"?
....... or "Earthlings" - maybe not ;-)
You should watch 'Slum Britain - 50 years on' AOG and then tell us again how brilliant things were.

It's on C5.

ummmm

No need to I was around then, yes there were hardships in some areas, but there are also hardships these days even though we now live in a social benefit age.
I am not sure how long back AOG is referring to. The fifties were dreadful, and most of us who were working class had very little; our parents had work, but in the main it was horrible work and paid just enough for families to survive. The sixties offered more hope and some could afford the odd luxury, but that was short-lived as the seventies brought more despair.
Did you live in a slum, AOG? If not did you ever see the living condition for yourself?

One section of this programme was called 'scars'...the emotional scars that living in the slums have left on some people. Hungry children living in filth living in one room and you talk about how great GB used to be.

The only thing great about it was the freedom children had to play out...but then again they had no choice.
As you will be aware I must be very careful what I say on this subject. So, no comment.
