That's a huge question Mikey and even those fully qualified would be hard pressed to give you a definitive answer - horrific is all I can say.
I'm glad it's a 20 year minimum, I didn't think they would get that much. Shocking in the extreme.
Because people can either be born as psychopaths, or can learn psychopathic behaviour.

The inability to feel or empathise in any way with the pain and suffering or another human being can be inculcated into any human mind at any age.

That rather cold and analytical response does not in any way the deep sense of horror and sorrow I feel at the news of this crime - and its outcome.
I can't help but wonder that if these two children had never met would one or both of them lived 'normal' lives without murdering or harming anyone.
Food for thought there. One could ask the same of Brady and Hindley.
You make a fair point there...

This paragraph for instance...

//The jury heard their "toxic relationship" was the reason behind the murders, and were described as Britain's 'Bonnie and Clyde'. The court was told the boy would do anything to make the girl happy.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Holley, of Lincolnshire Police, said: "The outside world, in a way, didn’t exist.//
Good question hc, they certainly appear to have a very strange relationship.

I think Andy has probably hit the nail on the head here.

It would be interesting to learn more about the family background of the two girls involved. I can't help but feel that there must be something in the girls upbringing that resulted in these two murders. The girls were only 14 at the time of the killings by the way.
looks at the question below mikey!
Life is so precious, they have not only brutally taken two lives, but they have also cast aside 20 years of their own young lives.

For what??????????? when others of their age are enjoying their lives to the full, playing sport, video gaming, going to the cinema and discovering the opposite sex etc etc.
Boy and girl.
Question Author
AOG...on that we agree 100% ! Its a terrible waste of 4 lives.
Question Author
Yes...I see that now Mamy....a boy and a girl it is.
It's a boy and a girl not 2 girls
I must admit that at first reading I assumed they were both girls.
AOG - //Life is so precious, they have not only brutally taken two lives, but they have also cast aside 20 years of their own young lives.

For what??????????? when others of their age are enjoying their lives to the full, playing sport, video gaming, going to the cinema and discovering the opposite sex etc etc. //

That encapsulates the tragedy of this entire tragic situation.

And of course, they will not have had the consequences in their minds at the time - no criminal does, or they would not be criminals!
"Britain's 'Bonnie and Clyde"

Wow, now there's a glamorisation and sensualizing you don't expect to hear from the media.

Did the reporter even do any research on the story of Bonnie and Clyde? Obviously not.

To be that warped at that young tells me that these kids have serious mental issues and will still be at risk to the public when they come out as the Bolger murderers were.
Bulger murderers I meant.
Question Author
The "Bonny and Clyde" reference is sure stupidity, as this couple have very little in common with B+C.
The media knows that in the minds of the public, a link to something they know is a valid link.

The fact that it is not a valid link doesn't matter in the slightest!!!
