Obviously the Democrats will have a post mortem but does this not show the whole establisment needs one? On both sides of the pond. Michael Moore the US left winger and Clinton Supporter correctly predicted this and labelled it the biggest FU in History, and yes it feels good. This and brexit surely must point to the fact that the people have seen enough of their liberal BS. Instead of trying to look at the issue the lefties predictably start calling the US electorate their silly names. Wake up!

TTT, I’ve just said exactly the same. People and politicians need to wake up and look at what’s really happening – and it’s not just in the UK and the US.
Hopefully they will wake up before the far right get a grip.

This and Brexit could save the World if they do.
I wasn’t ‘for’ either candidate what with her duplicity and his creepiness, but I think his policies are closer to my beliefs than hers.
So, yes, I hope this is the start of a big change with politicians looking out for their own people rather than wanting to wrap their arms around the world.
Bigbad, politicians with any sense will not only start to look out for their own people - they'll start listening - really listening - to their own people.
Most of Trumps anti establishment comments were aimed at his own party. He wasn't the candidate his own party hierarchy wanted, and he didn't get the nomination in the right way. Other than purge his enemies in his own party, there isn't much he can do to counter the military industrial complex that has run America for decades.
The Establishment is not restricted to one party Gromit. If The Donald can clean up his own though the others will need to follow or see themselves in the wilderness.
Ymb,
Clinton was clearly the wrong Democrat candidate, and again it was a dynasty that was behind her nomination. So the democrats will have to learn.
The military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned about, which controls the US economy are the main Establishment, but President Trump will find it impossible to remove them, assuming he wants to.

Throughout my lifetime I have watched while the civilised countries have been infested with people from the not so civilised countries, or money sent abroad to be spent on lost causes.
I developed my opinions in my early teens, and these have not changed. In fact, things constantly happen to reinforce them. (Awaits cries of “racist” & “Xenophobe” - meh!)

I hope that with the election of Mr. Trump we will finally see the start of things being reversed, and I hope that also happens during my lifetime.

I firmly believe that every country, whether wealthy or poor, should put the needs and welfare of it’s own citizens first.

It looks as if all the ‘nasty’ things Mr. Trump said about Mexicans and Muslims weren’t quite so nasty after all, as far as the American people are concerned.

I’ll have to come back to this later: I have spent far too much time watching TV and looking in on AB today!
At least Hillary has had the balls to come out and face the cameras like a good loser should.
Bigbad, I think you're far from alone in your opinions.
He may, though, find it easier to evict old folk from their homes to build his poxy golf courses.

How can this result be a good thing? The man's an imbecile, incapable of concentrating on anything for more than five minutes.

So much so that he has persuaded most Americans to vote him in as their President.

Ivor...that was uncalled for.

Dougie has every right to voice his opinions on AB, without being called an imbecile.

But Trump has said all things that he is being criticised for saying, time and time again. You might agree with him, and that is your privilege, but others are allowed to have different views.

I think Dougie is owed an apology.
You're obviously a friend and confidante, ivor, please enlighten me. It'll save me reading the 'wrong' stuff and getting a skewed opinion.
Will there be a 2nd."Election"because the "wrong" Person won.?They are trying it here over Brexit.,tongue in cheek,by the way.
Thanks Ed.
Question Author
at least ivor only called 1 person an imbecile. Douglas called 53million!
TTT...but they weren't on here though, were they ? I would have preferred him to apologise.
