To the best of my knowledge, none of us knew Sir Jimmy personally, and he is a public figure, and as such, his behaviour, whilst a salaried BBC employee and therefore paid by the licence holders, is open to comment.

People on here do have a relationship with each other - albeit a cyber one, and I would not comment personally on the passing of anyone - I have only ever offered condolences on the passing of any AB member of whose passing I have been aware.

ABers aren't really public people, though, Sqad; by and large they're anonymous and the only bad things anyone knows about them is what they've chosen to reveal themselves.

Most of these ABers including myself, may not have known Sir Jimmy personally, but to us he was a fondly remembered person.

So perhaps now is the time for you to offer an apology to all of us.

I will only ever apologise to anyone I believe I have genuinely upset or offended - and people who remember Jimmy Young on the radio from decades ago really do not count.

I also doubt they need you as a self-appointed spokesperson for their perceived outrage at my observations.

Sqad - we are not talking in hushed tones at a wake about someone we all knew personally.

We are discussing the death of an elderly retired radio presenter who has not been on air for decades, and who behaved badly by disrespecting his employers and his replacement on air before he went, and in print afterwards.

A sense of proportion is required here.

None of our frequent disagreements would be mentioned, because that would not be appropriate.

Quite how you think that equates to me commenting on one BBC employee being rude to another when none of us know either of them, remains a mystery.

Not a chance, this will be imprinted on minds of all those who choose to debate with you in the future, as the person who came on a thread announcing the death of yet another much loved entertainer, so as to sprout their negative thoughts on that person.

Your only chance to somehow get your words removed, is for you to use your usual method and that is to removed the thread yourself.

AOG - I think you seriously over-estimate the power of my opinion - to imagine that it is seared permanently into the memories of all who read what I say.

As to removing what I have said - I have told you numerous times that I do not remove posts that refer directly to me - I am certainly not going to remove something I have said because you don't like it.

You have the option to report what I have posted, and if the Editorial team agree that I have transgressed from Site Rules, they will act to remove my post if they think it necessary.

Other than that, to avoid the kind of argument that gets threads removed, my conversation with you about this issue is now closed, .
