the fee to join and ALL 27 members have to agree to let them join.

Dave.
Murdo,

They might not let them join because of the nature of the split in the nation... can't think of the proper term. A few other Euro countries would block it because they don't want their disenting regions doing the came. Spain has the separatists that would jump on the band wagon.

But I think one of the high up EU people have already said they wouldn't get in. Is that just posturing though?
" one of the high up EU people " that's decided then !!!!!! :-)
Do you think an independant Scotland is a good idea and will benifit the Scots, Anne?

Don't know much about this but what I find worrying is that many people who voted to retain the Union would now vote for independence after the Brexit vote. Not my opinion, just that I've heard from family in Scotland, don't shout at me!
Question Author
zebo, why do you find that worrying?
Talbot. In truth at this time I'm not sure but I am totally perplexed why some English abers are so interested in the topic.were NI or Wales,I wouldn't be interfering in their decision or indeed be downright abusive about their leaders as its none of my business.

Why isn't it?

Murdo, // I think "the heart of Europe" is perhaps egging it a bit//

Exactly. How does she work that one out? That really is delusions of grandeur!
The vote on June 23 was effectively England declaring independence (with Wales on the coat tails.
If it's good enough for England ...

I think, personally, the UK is living on borrowed time if Brexit goes ahead.
An independent Scotland, if that were to come about, would certainly be admitted to the EU. Any other provisional arrangement would not be full membership, but would possibly hasten the break-up of the UK anyway

Exactly murdo, don't forget , she is not Tory, labour, lib dem, or ukip. She is the first minister of Scotland and the leader of the Scottish National Party.its her job.

Making herself look a fool certainly goes with the territory.
'Despite Brexit there is no desire for another referendum in Scotland'

Why do Ikeep hearing that on media channels?
Am I hearing different things to Nicola?

She says she will only have a referendum if she can win ... so how soon does she think she can hector the Scottish public (the ones who that want to stay in the union) into submision?
