I don't have a problem with them. And before you ask, yes, I fly myself, and I'll be doing so tomorrow. If the flight is delayed by people on the runway, I'll live. I don't know when I was last on a flight that took off on time, and somehow I've learnt to cope with delays without being in a constant state of fury with humanity.

And your thoughts on behalf of the thousands of BA passengers being delayed round the world?
Some people are desperate to get those water cannons used somewhere/anywhere :-)

I have no thoughts on a 'Glitch'

I do have thoughts on morons who make spurious claims ... maybe you can back up their rhetoric as you seem to support their actions?
Maybe they should let some black passengers off the plane, so the protesters know first hand what they think off them.
/// It added that the planned expansion of London City Airport "consigns the local community in Newham to further deterioration of their environment". ///

"Further deterioration of their environment"??????

Sounds like they are a protected species.

Wait a mo, though?
Don't be silly Arks, black lives don't matter much when it is the "protesters" who are causing them problems.
These idiots should be arrested, served with a bill of costs, and if they can't pay it, they should then be locked up in a debtor's prison.
did I say somewhere that I supported their actions? Must have been a computer glitch.

But I thought for a moment you were concerned on behalf of the passengers. Apparently not, since you can express no sympathy for BA's.
Does Britain still have " debtors prisons" ?

No, not at all.
I am concerned about the actions and the reasons behind these actions.
You think there isn't a problem with them so you must support them.
They are a load of pillocks.

"Whilst at London City Airport a small elite is able to fly,…”

London City does not cater for a “small elite”. All manners of people fly from there on business and for pleasure. There is nothing elitist in flying these days. I have flown from LCY a number of times and I am certainly not among “a small elite”. They speak as if the airport only caters for executive jets. If they are talking about aviation generally, it is estimated that at any one time around one million people are aloft. Hardly an elitist pastime. They need to do a little research.

“…in 2016 alone 3,176 migrants are known to have died or gone missing in the Mediterranean. “

Then that’s their fault. They have deliberately set out in unseaworthy boats, imperilling themselves and their families.

"We note, however, that the UK is willing to charter special flights to remove black people from the country based on their immigration status."

That’s because the majority of people who warrant removal are black, many of them having arrived via the route mentioned above and not via London City Airport.

The authorities should not tolerate this nonsense. Nowhere else in the world would the invasion of a major airport be allowed without swift retaliation. To say that they should be shot is perhaps, by our standards, a little harsh. But that’s what would happen in many other places and it would not have closed an airport for half a day.
They should be left chained together and the key thrown away, then see how long they would wish to protest.

Gobsmacked!
You think she believes this manure?
I DO NOT support them, the idea of this protest was ridiculous ''To highlight the role of the UK environmental impact on the lives of Black people''
What the *** does that mean?
I thought' Black lives matter' was a protest against police brutality in the USA?
It would not have happened at Heathrow because the security is much more strict , at London City airport they were able to row over the Thames in a rubber dingy and climb up onto the tarmac. The security situation is now being 'reviewed' due to how easy it was to get on the runway.
How on earth did it take 6 hours to remove/arrest the protesters ?
They were all chained together and had chained themselves to some iron structure on the runway as well! The police had to use angle grinders and bolt croppers to get them out.
[[some iron structure on the runway]] which was made of wood if you look at the pictures in the OP Link
Jno at 9.38 yesterday - you are far far more tolerant than I am. If my flight was cancelled because a few right-on white Tarquins and Cressidas decided to act like complete cretins for no real credible reason, I'd be absolutely furious - and I suspect contrary to your post that you would be to.

The Black Lives Matter movement has been cheapened by the actions of these white morons, who probably think the slogan should be 'Only Black Lives Matter - So Fu** Everybody Else'
I make that knuckle draggers 35 Reasoned Thinkers 3.
Rather than waiting for police to cut them from the self-constructed tripod I'm not sure why they just didn't use a crane to lift the structure up and take it away. They could have been left dangling for a few hours somewhere else until the police could unlock them. Or they could have tipped the tripod over and dragged it out
