Sad to hear of the passing of George Kennedy who won an Oscar for Cool Hand Luke.

I met George, albeit briefly, in Switzerland in 1974/75 He was filming the "Eiger Sanction" with Clint Eastwood. I was staying in the Youth Hostel in Grindelwald and the producers were looking for extras !

So I high-tailed it up to Kleine Scheidegg but all the parts were taken. We hung around most of the day, hoping to see someone famous and eventually Kennedy ambled over and gave us his autograph. I was really after Clint's of course, but there was no sign of him anywhere !

RIP George !

Yeah great actor, RIP George, bit of trivia, he had an uncredited role in the famous "I'm Spartacus" scene.

Just realised who he is.

I've never seen Cool Hand Luke, but I remember him from (I think) Naked Gun. And he was in Dallas, right?

He was also superb in Charade (well worth catching if you've never seen it).
