These figures are staggering, and are only going to get worse unless some decisive action is taken soon. The Corbyns of this World really have no idea of how the long term financial pressure would increase if their 'Let 'em all in stance' was adopted.

Unsurprisingly, you have to dig deep. The footnotes on p31 of the report refer to “Benefit Claims by EEA Nationals’, DWP Statistical Release (November 2015), which is this:

Page 5 of that document shows a line “DWP out-of-work expenditure-EEA led claims” which is quoted at £886m. I think the Mail article said “buried in a government report” – and they are right.
This is just a small part of the vast wealth transfer scheme that is the EU. This sum of taxpayer’s dosh is that handed foreigners in the form of “out-of-work” benefits. It can be near enough doubled (from the same report) when one includes Housing Benefit for those in work. However, it does not include Tax Credits (which are administered by HMRC. The figures provided seem to be from the DWP). I cannot readily find the figures for Tax Credit payments to EEA nationals but of one thing you can be sure: the £1.6bn payments for Housing Benefit and so-called Job Seeker’s allowance can be at least trebled when the Tax credit payments to foreign nationals are included. Tax Credits currently cost the country over £30bn. Even if only 10% of this sum is handed to foreigners (and the government’s own figures – from the same report - show that 16% of Housing Benefit is paid to EEA nationals in work) then another £3bn can be added to the cost.

Immigration from outside the EU is controlled. It is far too high in my opinion, though that’s another argument. It is controlled and we have the right to deny entry if we wish. At present the UK has absolutely no say over who does and does not arrive to settle here from other EU nations (total population about 500m and set to rise by about another 100m when the current “candidate” nations are admitted). Any one of these people can arrive in the UK and settle here. Around 257,000 (about 48% of foreign arrivals) did just that last year alone. They need not have a job; they need not have any skills that the UK requires; they need not have anywhere to live; they may have complex health problems; they may have numerous children of school age; they may have an unsavoury criminal past. None of that matters. They have the right to settle here and that right cannot be denied.
Leaving the EU will mean that the UK can once again choose who settles here and who does not. It does not mean an end to immigration. Contrary to the nonsense spouted as part of "Operation Fear" people from Europe will still be allowed to settle here (in the same way that UK citizens will be allowed to settle elsewhere in Europe). But it means a return to controlled immigration.

My £100 per week Invalidity Benefit was taken away from me to pay for people like this.
A 'doctor' came to my house and declared me fit for work because I could hold my arms out straight in front of me and because my knees, (which were absolutely fine at the time), looked okay. Due to painkillers, I now have pain in every joint of my body and can barely walk. I'm 53. Who is going to employ me?
To 'sign on' for Jobseekers Allowance I'd have to travel 10 miles to Barnsley and back. Travelling makes my pain worse. What do I do?
I signed a petition recently to force Ian Duncan Smith to reveal how many sick people have committed suicide after their money was taken away from them.
I still haven't received an email which discloses this amount.
Something else that the government is trying to bury.
I suppose the more people here who commit suicide the better, as it makes room for another immigrant to come here and take their benefits.
