I agree if it had been a gang of three white youths, and a black youth finishing up dead at the hands of one, it would have been treated much more serious, and if it wasn't there would most likely be some taking to the streets in violent protest. What is interesting in this case is the fact that the killer's parents, supported their son's alibi even though they knew...

If you think there is news mileage to be gained by inferring that the newsworthiness would be greater if the crime were white on black, then that is a strange way to start a debate.

He was jailed for a minimum of 21 years !! That is one of the longest terms I have seen. I can't see how the sentence would be different if it was 'the other way around'
By the way the 21 years is when he could even start to apply for parole! even at best it will be at least another 5 years more like 10 to 15.
