I wonder if he has read the population correctly, just because there is a 300,000 petition (out of 60m population) and a media frenzy (because they can flog papers or make a political point) doesn't mean it is what the majority want.
And where will it stop?
Will the Hungarian president be proved correct when he says Europeans will become a minority in their own continent?

see my 1229 post on "immigrants". Hungary are playing fairly by the rules that are being dictated to them. They are processing and fingerprinting alleged asylum seekers in their own refugee camps before passing them on to other countries.
You are being succoured in by press photos of migrants throwing themselves on railway tracks because the rules don't suit them. The migrants want to dictate the terms.

and, how exactly would sharing out migrants amongst EU nations work? one inside they'll have free movement within the Schengen zone. sent to poland? slovenia? nah we're not having that, we're off to Germany/Sweden/etc, and nobody will be able to stop them.

until last week Germany were insisting that other European countries( Hungary, was singled out for special criticism) abide by the Dublin Agreement, stop waving immigrants through to Germany, register them, etc, in their own countries.
Now, as I said earlier in this thread, if we ask for an alteration to the EU rules, we have no chance. But Germany arbitrarily suspended the Dublin agreement, via twitter no less, a few days ago. Confused? Everyone else is.
