I remember reading somewhere that this 'knock out ' gas being use din robberies was an urban myth and there was no evidence it was actually happening, but someone speaking on radio 4 the radio today today suggested it was a known problem and that Russia may be behind it
An acquaintance of mine lost everything of value when this happened to them on a caravanning holiday in France. It's been going on for years.
"It's a gas", a celebrity couple get robbed and suddenly it is headlines.

It is happening to Mr & Mrs Bloggs all the time.
It probably has already killed someone - have French authorities checked back over incidents of people 'found dead'?
anaesthetic gas has been used in the past on overnight trains in france.

this was stopped by changes in operating practices.

/// anaesthetic gas has been used in the past on overnight trains in france. ///

Perhaps they should still use that in-between trains in the Channel Tunnel?

No this is an urban myth

anaesthetic gas CANNOT be used int his way -at all let alone safely
comes up every y or two - watch out for words such as 'halothane or something' and ' killer truth serum gas'

The Royal College of Anaesthetists used to have an FAQ on this
but the intellects on the council voted to take it off, [ as they said it was infra dig for their very important reputations [= reflected badly on their reputations in that they were responding to such stupid suggestions]

In case anyone asks
the moscow kidnappings were terminated by direct order of Putin by pumping in an aerosolized synthethetic opiate in as a mist/smoke and there was no one on site to maintain airways so around 32 died

[ on a technical note they bussed them into the local hospital before they gave narcan and around thirty died on the way ]

see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow_theater_hostage_crisis

(oops I seem to have more knowledge of this than is )n wiki)

09 21 Beeb still carrying it, dimwitted tree-huggers !
// /// anaesthetic gas has been used in the past on overnight trains in france. ///

no it didnt, no it wasnt

there WAS a report that the air con had been cut open
and killer truth serum gas pumped in
but they were not confirmed ( think flying pigs, nuns with guns in world war two etc )
have you not heard of the 35th sisters of mercy regiment, PP?

:-)

was it their comfortable shoes gave them away or their size 10 hobnail boots?
A lady I know had this happen to her when caravanning in France. They woke up to find they had been burgled. It terrified her and I don't think they ever went again. Not an urban myth.

:-) sometimes an answer is such that it couldn't be other than 'best'.
I'm really pleased that the BBC news had an anaesthetist on just now, completely debunking this ridiculous gassing theory. It's been doing the rounds for years and years, even some very intelligent people still believe they've been gassed in their camper vans, caravans or homes. The caravan club website has some interesting things to say about it too.
I was waiting for your input on it Slaney, you always talk sense :)
Well thanks ethandron - not sure my dear children would agree:)
thx slaney - erm back on rather I note the date is 2014

( and hi! slaney by the way )

the one I was thinking of was got rid before 2010
BBC news had an anaesthetist on just now.
