When you hear about friends Young / Older passing, does it make you wonder when your time is up? In our local paper each week I read about So & So passing, that's what made me put this post in.

I try not to think about it.
i guess we all think about our own mortality when someone we know dies twr...

I tend not to worry about it, when your time is up, there's nothing you can do about it so why waste energy worrying?

... and can't remember when I last read a Local Paper!
Not someting i worry about as Im too busy making the most of every day.
No,what is more concerning is How not When. I would hate to have a lingering condition that robbed me of my memories or Independence.
Well, yes, but only to wonder if Mrs sqad who is 10 years younger will be financially secure without my contribution to the money pot.
Apart from that.......no, I don't wonder as I have used two of my "Get out of Jail Free " cards, so, it shouldn't be too long...;-)

Hope NOT Sqad, your input is needed on here x
LOL ^^^^...0h! AB will get along fine without me, when the time comes.
Thanks anyway TWR.
Yes it does, especially when someone dies relatively young. It makes you wonder why people get upset and stressed about things that are not important. Just live your life to the full every day and don't plan too far ahead. Makes you wonder whether it's worth investing all your spare cash for your retirement when you might not even be here. I put some aside but not as much as I could.
someone i went to school with died in a motorcycle accident last week, made me sad that he had died so young, didnt make me think about my own mortality though
I'm delighted to wake up every morning having dodged the grim reaper once more.
Morning, Sweetie......it crosses my mind only enough to make sure the will is in order and the undies drawer tidy.....

In 2008 I lost MrG, the husbands of two close friends and my dearest friend in the space of sixteen weeks...all too soon.
That made me decide to concentrate on me and the now and how I want my life to be.....it saddens me to see people I know, and some on here, miserable and grumping over the silliest things or putting up with an unsatisfactory life that could be changed.

I'd hate to spend my last years as my mother is doing....if I could arrange it I'd go in the garden, having put the tools in the shed and sipping a glass of red.....but not for a while yet I hope......x

There is a saying, if you wake up in the morning & out stretch your arm's & not be restricted by wood, your doing ok.

I do find it rather ironic that the result of playing one of my 'Get out of Jail Free Cards' was sorted out in a Meat processing Plant/Slaughterhouse way back in '82. (Thanks Rick and Co.)

Rather than suffer for years with a nasty illness that would be the best way to go, McMouse ...just wake up dead one morning.
Why should talking about death offend anyone ? It is as natural as birth. I have looked over a Natural Burial site for my eternal rest, as you might call it. But I have every intention of living until I am 102 and then dying of misadventure. So, with any luck, there won't be any remains to bury.

Hi my Apple, I know what you mean Gness, My 97 year old Mother is In 1st Stage Dementia, in a lovely care home, with respect to the other Residents in there. there are some well out of it, I would not like to go that far.xx
Is AB your virtual orchard, TWR?
Mine is 92....not a day of illness in here life....never a cold, ache or pain. She's had alzheimer's for almost ten years now....can do nothing at all for herself, can no longer speak and knows nobody...that would be my nightmare....x
