I've just been informed that the reason I have been unable to buy a Toblerone for the past few months is because my local Waitrose has discontinued the line!

You need to take a flight . There's always a great load of them in the duty free shop at airports.

Supermarkets always stop selling the favourite stuff they see you buying. At least they seem to do that to me.

It was suggested that I took myself off to France by ferry or plane as you are always guaranteed a supply at the ports.

Seems a tad extreme though!

They had ruddy huge piles of them in Lidl at Xmas Eccles !

Given that the size of Toblerone bars was changed specifically to meet the requirements of Poundland (which is by far the biggest seller of Toblerone in the UK), so that it could keep the £1 price tag, I'm unsurprised that Waitrose now regards the product as far too 'down market' for them to sell in their own stores ;-)

My diabetes Nurse thoroughly disapproves of anything like Toblerone, but when I am safely out of sight, I prefer the dark chocolate version !
