Fanny hands lane, lmao.

The road should be named after Frank.
it is a bit odd to add the S on the end like that, especially if they haven't done it before when naming roads after people. Why not just remove it?
Ridiculous.

It this sort of complaint that used to give the gay community a reputation for being over sensitive, and attention seeking.

Actually, something that is definitely offensive to gays is our local club night called Wild Fruit. Blatantly making fun of the fact that gay people used to be known as "fruits".

It should be banned. Who would come up with a name so offensive to the gay community?

What? Sorry?

It's run by the gay community?

Ahh, right.

Sussex sense of humour obviously a bit stronger than the Kentish one, then.

Incidentally, if it was called Bantories Road, would there be the same outcry?

Next thing you know, people will start using the word "queer" again. Offensive. Glad no one uses that word any more.

What? Our local lifestyle website is called what ????

The comments below the article say it all. Those two are crazy.
//My husband and I..... (etc)//

Sounds like a right old queen!
This post amused me

''I've written a letter to the International Society of Biologists asking them to rename Homo Sapiens, as the name is clearly offensive.''
What a load of tosh.
I think the answer lies in the relentless 'modernisation' of the English language that councils have undertaken. I've read that they have stopped using apostrophes because they are 'confusing' (presumably to the ill-educated). The article I read said that the road was named after a Mr. Bangay. No problem at all if they had inserted the apostrophe and made it 'Bangay's Way'. Without the apostrophe it reads that gay people should be banned.

English is a complex, very accurate code and shouldn't be messed about with because this sort of confusion then happens!
