Just beware anyone who was taken in by Labours promises yesterday. Gordon Brown used stealth taxes to fund his wasteful plans during his time as Chancellor. Do you remember the number of days you had to work before you spend your own money? I know Our Council Tax doubled over Labour years and it hasn't risen since 2010

Taking your view into consideration Naomi, I guess we will all be paying for our own street lamp that no one else should use, and our own policemen outside the door, and our own tank and soldier to defend our land from invasion, and retar our own bit of road etc. etc. etc. Society is there for a communal good. That is why the basics are achieved by a central kitty and organisation. Self reliance is a handy ability to have, but to be part of the larger whole is a greater good, and we are all the stronger (and less stressed) for it.

That’s not my view. I do, however, think that those who are quite able but nevertheless depend upon society to fund them should be obliged to do their bit in sharing the cost of providing all of that for the communal good because they are in fact the people you mentioned at 09:44 today who really are looking out for their own advantage. As long as they’re getting what they think they’re entitled to they don’t give a damn about the rest of society.
