I do not delete things I disagree with. If I did I would not last long as a moderator. I don't think I have ever deleted anything you have posted.

// especially when that person has been incorrectly accused by you.

Not sure what that refers to. Do you think I have incorrectly accused you of something.
The problem here is the use of the 2 words 'Promote' and 'Portray' as if they are the same, they are not!
Promote means to help something happen.
Portray means to describe something in a particular way.
The original quote was to PORTRAY gay sex in a posative way, that is a lot diffrent from PROMOTING it in a posative way!
As usual the news papers have changed the quote so as to make it more 'newsworthy'
Agree entirely with whiskeryron.... School is for learning things we aren't usually taught at home and to prepare us for a career, sexual matters should be taught at home that's how it used to be IMO.

And what if the attitude to sexual matters at home is biased, ignorant, homophobic, uninformed, and there is little or no knowledge of human anatomy,or emotions? Or,the parents are ill-equiped in other ways to teach their children? Are the parents still the best source of knowledge?

Just because a law has been passed does not automatically alter everyone's mind or attitude

True, but the fact is that people are more enlightened now. More accepting and more socially educated.

This should be reflected in the way that children are taught in school - by our values today, not of the values of the past...because we have rejected those.

Don't you think that's fair?

To have children taught by what are our values now, rather than those of the people who put gay men in jail?
AOG, if 'tripping yourself up' was an Olympic sport, you'd be team captain. If you just posted sensible headlines instead of the ones which the DM seems to have conditioned you to, you would garner a lot more respect.
Should Schools Be Forced To Promote Gay Relationships . . .

Nah, Emmerdale and Corrie do it better.
Don't forget Eastenders, sir p.

Why blame the Daily Mail, this is the Telegraph headline.

*** 'Promote gay relationships as positive in school,' teachers say ***

Promote or not....you can't make someone gay. Nothing could persuade me to try and have sexual relations with a woman because I'm straight. Would I be happy for my children to be taught about homosexuality in school...absolutely, not a problem, although they'd never need it because they haven't been raised to think it's wrong.
AOG Only the headline uses the word 'promote' , in the text the word used is 'protray' Read it !!!!
The actual quote was to 'protray' but the Telegraph has either accidentally or more likedly intentionally used the word 'promote' for the headline.
