It's not an April fools story if that's your thinking sandy, as I remember seeing the same story some months ago in The Mail, they've just recycled it.

The Today program had an amusing story this morning, about new plans to widen and heighten goal mouths by 6 inches, in order to make sure that their were more goals, rather than the ball hitting the post !

Actually, I quite like the idea !
