The acknowleged start of the most famous road in America was Jackson Boulevard, but since the street was made one way, the highway start is now located at Adams Street and its junction with Michigan Avenue, in Chicago.

The end of Route 66 is the point where Santa Monica Boulevard meets Ocean Avenue, in Los Angeles.
