One has to feel sorry for this 'Burglar' what a way to be woken up, and doesn't Mrs Dyson look menacing with that saucepan in her hand?

It could have had a horrible ending to this story, but luckily it didn't.

Strange.

I can understand that this gentleman thought the house was unoccupied because of the overgrown garden, but when he found a spotless interior, and fresh food in the kitchen - didn't that make him stop and think?

the UK is the land of milk and honey; all derelict houses have a well stocked kitchen and full utility services running, just in case someone decided to break in and squat.

I hope the garden is better kept in the lavish hotel he's no doubt staying in now.
At least the Polish guy didn't have to do Porridge!
