No Tony, the Star and Garter in question is on the top of Richmond hill and was a home for ill ex-servicemen.
Yours is in Putney.
Ah, so I was at the wrong end of the road then, shoota.
I know both sites well....
Down to the Orange Tree in Richmond then, tony, a very fine imbibing institution of Youngs persuasion last time that I was there.
Was you policing in that area, shoota ?.
There is a pub in my area called the Orange Tree, DT. Excellent pint of Guinness.
Indeed I was Tony, Richmond and Barnes to start with. I used to drink in the Star and Garter in Putney when I was first in London.
what year, shoota - I used to live up Putney Hill and the local station was Putney, the pub used frequently....
For some reason I seem to remember a television variety show from years and years ago that I think was called live at the Star and Garter. I wonder if thats the same Star and Garter in Putney ?.
I was at Richmond and Barnes from 1981 to 1998 to the best of my memory.
that was in Manchester, tony, and a 'converted' large building.....
They often had live jazzy stuff going on T.
1980-early 82 for me.....
Why am I reminded of the cops in Last of the Summer Wine?

Cheers DTC
