oh my............poor man.
Sadly, there was never any chance that he would not be killed.
Sickening, totally ! That poor family.

No regard for humanity whatsoever...nuke 'em
It saddens me to see desperate people pleading for the lives of these captives on the basis that they're just humanitarians who are there to help the ordinary muslim people of the region.

The fact is that the captors couldn't give a *** about that. They're the ones out there gleefully murdering the ordinary muslim people of the region anyway - why on earth would that cut any ice with them?
RIP Alan - who died doing good.
Before we set about Syria and Iraq lets get rid of all the hate preachers milking our benefits system first to bring up their large families.
How sad. :o(
...and to follow baz, let's not use the word 'execute', which suggests a lawful process. The word is murder, as any first year undergraduate law student will tell you.
//Begs the awful question, who's next? //

According to the video, an American hostage. This isn't just murder - it's disgustingly barbaric slaughter.
Horror beyond words, RIP.
Wicked beyond belief. And to think that there are some British citizens flocking to their cause...
Keyplus - "... They would not listen to anyone especially any Muslim leaders or groups as they themselves know that what they are doing is against Islam..."

But IS (or ISIS or ISIL) *are* muslims. They *are* doing it in Islam's name. They are reading the exact same texts as you are and yet they are beheading non-believers. How can this be? Are these sadistic people making it up as they go along or does the Koran have anything specific to say about beheading non-believers?

Unfortunately it does; it's halal. Murder, torture and humiliation of non-believers runs through Islam like a watermark...

"... So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks..." - Koran 47:4

"... [Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip..." - Koran 8:12

... etc. There are many, many other such quotes directly from the Koran if anyone cares to look.

As well you know (I presume) there are other verses in the Koran and in the Hadiths that condone the murder of non-believers by beheading. I understand that beheading a non-believer cleanses his soul or some other such drivel. Beheading is a prescribed 'punishment' in Islam. It is there in black and white in the very book that you and other muslims espouse as being 'perfect'.

How the hell do you square that circle Keyplus?
Evil beyond belief.

Tragedy beyond comprehension.

RIP Alan Henning
RIP Alan Henning.

Death's too good for these murderers. Is it possible to kneecap them at sniper range?

Pity you couldn't bundle up Ebola and drop it !
Dreadful though it is to say it, the only solution seems to be one of Hiroshima and Nagasaki proportions.
Poor man, RIP.

His muslim compatriots were released. Seems theyre only murdering non muslims.

It was reported that Britain's role in the air strikes sealed his fate. Complete nonsense from ISIS.

Just sickening.
I saw this news last night & went to bed thinking of him & his family. What a very horrible world we live in sometimes. Watching footage of Mr Henning, I couldn't help think that he probably felt nothing would happen to him. Was it three days in he was kidnapped? How horrific for him & and what an awful memory for his family.
Time to get serous, we live in two very different worlds and sadly because of extremism on both sides many more people will suffer, the average Muslim family is no different to the average Christine family they just want to live a good life raise their family and make the most of their lot.

But I sadly doubt that we will be able to peacefully lives together because of the extremists, So let realise that a few bomb are not going to solve this, it simple stirs up more hatred, you either ring fence the problem and let if fester and slowly get stronger (not possible in my opinion) or eradicate it, but this would need to be done on a massive scale home and abroad, In history that how it was done, the victor generally wiped the looser off the face of the earth, so that they would not come back again later, sadly that is the long term plan the extreme Muslims have for the non believes, so do we wait till they have the upper hand or strike while we have the upper hand? choices will need to be made or force on us and people will need to take sides and stand either side of the line, as nobody will be able to avoid the fall out when it really starts.
