His unfailing efforts, which have shown themselves remarkably successful, to secure peace between Palestinian and Israeli must have weighed heavily in his favour.
Or maybe this publication is ''aving a larff'.
"We like to have celebrities at our event who cause a bit of a stir,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live. “So having Tony was fantastic. We like to have people who have opinions and are forthright.”
Publicity at any price it would seem.
the answer's in the story

“Highlighted in his citation was the Tony Blair Faith Foundation's work in Sierra Leone, which is dedicated to saving lives using a pioneering malaria prevention initiative that engages with faith communities to tackle the problem. (If there isn't a hospital there will be a church or mosque, and in this way the message can be shared with the most remote towns and villages throughout Sierra Leone.)

“In this way, the Foundation has supported 600 Muslim and Christian leaders, trained over 14,000 people, and reached over two million people with potentially life-saving messages. Other successes have come from working with African governments on building basic infrastructure: roads, ports, etc. GQ is pleased to acknowledge this work, and also his contribution to alleviating social deprivation in the UK.”

I agree that Tony Blair was conned into Iraq by George Dubbya, other than that he was a a fine Prime Minister and politician, IMO.

Just wonder if David Cameron will get the same backlash from the press, and others, if he is conned in to bombing Iraq and Syria by Barack Obama, somehow I doubt it.
I would like to add my congratulations.
GQ also made Kim Kardashian 'Woman of the Year'- so I'm imaginging the decision making panel had a bit too much Bolly when they made their minds up and these two morally corrupt half wits were the only peoples names they could still remember because the self promoting horrors get their ugly mugs everywhere at every opportunity. Or they might have been bribed.
"other than that he was a a fine Prime Minister and politician, IMO. "

DJ of the year Jimmy or DLT

I shall write to GQ immediately
"You shouldn't believe everything you read "
