I would like to see him there, if only to fire up the Tories and labour.

I sincerely hope not, the House of Commons is not a platform for a clown like Farage.

You mean, someone who tells it like it is, who speaks the mind of a lot of people rather than represents the view of a minority of loudmouth right-on liberals that the two main parties pamper to?

Speaking of clowns, how would you class Prescott then ?
there're all clowns in the house of commons , aren't they ?
The Cons have a majority of 7k so it's a bit doubtful whether there are enough loonies to close the gap.
Youngmafbog, we obviously sing off different hymn sheets and I don't wish to enter into political debate, or fall out with anyone, over the discussion of someone I find quite odious, but you obviously don't.
If Farage does stand S.Thanet being a key marginal seat has to be taken. If he fails then it will just confirm that the successes in the recent elections do not translate into General Election success.

A lot can happen until Polling Day and controversy never seems far away for Ukip so any negative publicity elsewhere in the party will impact badly across the board.

Ukip can expect to take plenty of votes from both Lab/Con but it wont mean much when it comes to the crunch...
S. Thanet is a difficult seat to win. Not sure why he has ruled out Thurrock in Essex which has a majority of just 92.

I can see UKIP having 2 or 3 MPs, but Farage missing out.
///S. Thanet is a difficult seat to win. Not sure why he has ruled out Thurrock in Essex which has a majority of just 92. ////

If Farage overturns 7,000 at S.Thanet it would enhance his ego rather than a meagre 92...

At some time in the future...almost certainly.

If a suitable Tory seat doesn't appear, I am sure someone will obligingly fall on their sword for him. But one UKIP MP would be as useful as one Green MP...about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Can I point out that Farage has stood for election to Westminster 5 times already and failed every time.......doesn't bode very well for the future does it ?
///speaks it as it is///

Pronounces his name in the French manner (instead of rhyme with garage), employs his German wife, yet rails constantly against Europe.

Caanary....You forgot to add " and rakes in £100,000's as a MEP, despite hardly ever turning up and behaving childishly when he does turn up"
///Can I point out that Farage has stood for election to Westminster 5 times already and failed every time.......doesn't bode very well for the future does it ? ///

But his popularity has increased and with some very winnable marginals he has every chance to upset the formbook this time.

Oh, I have already said that he should do it in 2015 agchristie. I am just pointing out that he proved to be as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit on previous occasions.
"If Farage overturns 7,000 at S.Thanet it would enhance his ego rather than a meagre 92..."

Not just that, he has more chance of doing that than anyone else in his party. Maybe this is a dangerous tactic, but it could mean they take 2 seats rather than one?
AB Editor....wow TWO seats ! That will be a game changer then won't it !
Mikey - yes,I read that you thought it was on the cards eventually.

One swallow doesn't make a Summer is a far more sober way of me summing up the party prospects compared to your analogy!
I agree agchristie !
Ab Editor - yes, fair point.Farage seen to be playing a captain's innings against the sterner bowling.Bigger Tests to come though!!
