I only ever listened to it firmly snuggled on the lap of an aunt and being tiny I couldn't understand why it wasn't called "Listen With Auntie Ethel."

I liked looby lou, couldnt understand why she only came out when Andy Pandy and Teddy were sleeping.I loved the Woodentops, do you remember Rag, Tag and Bobtail.....what were they all about, ooh and Bill and Ben, with Little weeeed !

A couple of years ago I took a brace of Junior Overalls to the Museum of Film, TV and Other Things in Bradford.
To my delight I found I could install us in a mini cinema area for six people and watch virtually any tv programme recorded.
I forcibly dragged them in and made a request for an episode of The Woodentops.
I stuck it for about 2 minutes - it was crap. My god, we were easily pleased back in the day
