Just watched this story on Sky News and I'm agog at the bare-faced affront with which his family are pleading his case:

i think he would be better to stay there until his heath improves
health
Well you can't apply for asylum unless you are physically present in the UK- so sadly he's not eligible, how tragic ;-)
If they are that concerned then perhaps his family should 'upsticks' and join him.
Perhaps his loving son and daughter should move to the Lebanon so that they could visit him regularly !.
He had been found guilty of a trumped up charge in his absence by a military court in Jordan.

So we locked him up without trial for 13 years. Now a civil court in Jordan has found him innocent.

He has to come back to collect his compensation. Wrongly imprisoned for 13 years, he will get £millions.

that is enough to make anyone ill
We lock up him for 13 years at Great cost to us.

But we knew that the 'evidence' on which the Jordanians had based the charge was obtained by torture. Never the less, we held him without trial for all those years. The Home Secretaries (Labour and Conservative) should be made to pay back the taxpayer for this criminal waste of money.

Think you might be barking up the wrong palm tree Gromit and have got your mad mullah's mixed up.
Question Author
Have you got Abu Qatada mixed up with Omar Bakri Mohammed, Gromit?
Sorry all. I have got the wrong hate preacher.
Do you honestly think they will let him return? of course the will, this week minded government will allow any trash in. Remember the pedo that was returned from OZ?,

From his Wiki page:

Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said on 12 November 2010 that Bakri was among 54 people sentenced by a military court to life in prison with hard labour after being accused of acts of terrorism.[6] After the decision Bakri told reporters, he would "not spend one day in prison", and said, "I will not hand myself in to any court. I do not believe in the law in Britain as in Lebanon," It was reported on 14 November 2010 that he had been arrested by the Lebanese police and was being transferred to Beirut.

That's a shame. As he doesn't believe in the law in Britain, we can't possible acquiesce to his requests.
weak
Gromit - they're like bishops or cardinals innit ?

all up to the same thing - makes me see red, I can tell you....

( all of them, mad mulluz included )
so if he's such a hard luck case, put him up in your back bedroom gromit!
And now it looks as if we have another one to contend with according to the MoS, pp. 14-15!
I am not sure how much a radical preacher receives in the UK but when he does return, maybe restrict him to £20,000 per annum free money and only 3 bedroom house. Sorry, annoyed sarcasm.
Surely merciful Allah will intervene on behalf of one so devout.

No? Oh well.
