A controversial Evangelical Christian and "witch hunter" arrives in the UK in the hope of performing exorcisms on children. But in Nigeria witch scares have resulted in violence, torture and death.

Indeed she should. Spreading nonsense like this can do nothing but harm impressionable minds.

The video is worth watching.
Yes, she should have been refused entry.
You don't need to see all of that to get the hateful message she's pedalling
Question Author
You do.
I will then.
Question Author
Good.
absolutely
Question Author
I wonder why she wasn't?
And its a yes from me as well....we have enough religious nutters of our own without importing any new ones from abroad.
because this country is stupid, it boots out people who are no threat, and keeps or allows entry to people like this

This is not just your common or garden religious nutter though - she really poses a physical danger to children. Good for Channel 4 news for highlighting her arrival here. I hope the authorities watch her closely.
Difficult to say, after all folk here are wishing to bar someone who has yet to break the law in this country, and even the report seems to imply she is abusing when her claim is that she merely identifies those who she believes are possessed. Exactly what is the dividing line between barring or allowing someone who seems not to have been prosecuted for anything anywhere ?

For sure we need no one encouraging this victimisation of children here, even if done in good faith, for if it leads to abuse and murder then it transcends any acceptable level of religious tolerance: but with just the fear of what might be, the authorities probably found it difficult to justify a ban. Perhaps being barred from preaching this might be an alternative.

Of course long term one needs to persuade the population of countries such as Nigeria that one need not fear a spiritual world and that this sort of act is simply irrational, not unavoidable, as many there presumably believe.
Yes she should not be allowed anywhere near this country, along with many more from Nigeria

But why Britain needs to spend £1miliion on improving Nigeria's prisons is anyone's guess?

/// Britain has even made clear it would pay to build new prisons in countries like Nigeria to speed up the process of sending foreign criminals home. Up to £1million has been promised to upgrade Nigerian jails, including a new wing at Kirikiri Prison in Lagos. ///

The mere fact of claiming to be a witch hunter should be a bar on her entry.
Bloody chancers with their medieval ideas should be turned around at the gate.
Let them scream racism all the way home.
AOG, we'll veer away from the original point here, but I think the improvement in Nigerian prisons is an attempt to preempt any attempt to fight extradition to Nigeria on the grounds that their jails fail to meet basic requirements.
Quite so, Sandy. And that's what happens when you let the lunatics run the asylum.
A Mafia 'Don' wanted by the Italian authorities was spared extradition because of their prison conditions. I'd guess they'd be considered 5 star when compared with prison in the 3rd World.
This seems to be money well spent.
Yes, she should.
