Well looks like the Welsh are finding out.

In Wales, flood relief is the responsibility of the Welsh Government so no they wont get money pledged by English Government!

Well the English are still holding their breath as well.
When Cameron said 'Money is no object' it had a slightly different meaning to what most of us translated!
Part of the cost of living in the Peoples Republic of Wales, ymg... No interference from the Tories any more but no extra money from the pot marked "Money is no object" apparently.

Boold, do you mean it does not translate into Welsh?

Mickey, if you go cap in hand to the Tories to save you it looks like it will be considered!
//Downing Street says it will look at any application made by the Welsh Government for more help.//

But ask nicely !!

Perhaps Wales should apply for foreign aid? Scotland will be able to soon without a doubt - and probably get it !

The problem with the foreign aid is that it is already spent (and no one foresaw the probelms to come). They shoudl address it for future but it wont have any impact on current problems at home.
Scotland won't need foreign aid, we're keeping Sterling as our currency.
i very much doubt that.
because why should The Bank of England bail you out if and when it goes belly up.

Most of the Scottish popuation will move to England before independance, should it happen.
formula for Scottishness, surprising how many live elsewhere.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20048521
but if Scots want independence, and the pound sterling, then the Bank of England won't want to bail them out, and what happens if things go really badly and they have to go cap in hand to the EU, bit like Greece without the sunshine
But with the deep-fried Mars Bars :-)
too much mess NJ
because if it goes tits up, pardon me, but if you live in Greece you can at least get those thruppeny bits a nice sun tan, which really doesn't apply in Scotland does it.
An interesting slant Emmie, does that mean that people born in Scotland would have dual nationality or will they have to give up UK nationality ?
/we're keeping Sterling as our currency./ I suppose that when you are 'independant' you can do what you like......except of course you can't.
As a Scot, I cannot think of a single reason why I would want independence.
Gosh, I cannot even spell independance, please forgive me.
