Ditto Naomi.
mikey - Roy Harper os a long way from a 'nearly-celeb'.

He is a highly respected musician with a large fan following.

That said, he would scorn the notion of being a 'celeb' in the modern sense of the term, and it is sad to see him this situation.
He's been doing the rounds on 6music progs, promoting a new album & celebrating 50yrs in the music biz. Apparently, he was punk, before punk rock.
As the blurb says, he sang the lead vocal on Pink Floyd's music biz satire song 'Have A Cigar' and he is name-checked in a Zepelin song - 'Hats Off To Roy Harper'.
He never got a credit on the album for singing Have a Cigar....it's still wrankling him....
I can't believe some have never heard of him!!
ummmm - it does depend on your cultural references.

My eight-year-old grandson has his mouth permamently open at my lamentable ignorance of the finer points of higher eschelon Europeran football teams - but I do know who Roy Harper is!!!

Not, I would suggest, a topic for levity AOG - I am surprised at you.
andy, I think the target of levity here is not Mr Harper's situation, but the apparent poor grasp of the journo's own language.
Never heard of him.
Irish?
I have heard of Lonnie Donegon....or was it Donny Lonegan?.......anyway, the chap who stuck his chewing gum on his bedpost over night.
Roy harper had a Chinese wrestlers jock strap cooked in chip fat on a greasy day
mushroom - "andy, I think the target of levity here is not Mr Harper's situation, but the apparent poor grasp of the journo's own language."

I fully appreciate the point AOG was making - but i don't think this is a subject for humour on any level - whether directed at the involved parties or not. It is not a laughing matter.

Agreed Andy!
