Brain dead is what these people are. It is beyond my comprehension. Eveybody should be charged who chanted when he was taken away for encouraging it. This really is horrible

godalmighty, that's awful.

This anti-paedophile hysteria is getting way out of hand

http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/oct/25/vigilante-paedophile-hunters-online-police
That's very disturbing...
Heinous though this is, you can't really describe 2 neanderthal's as a 'mob'.
Mob conjures an image of more than 10 people IMHO.
//One resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "On the Thursday evening everyone came out and they were calling him a paedophile. There were about 20 people out there all having a say. They had him down as a 100% paedophile. When the police took him away everyone was cheering. Then he got released back into that."//

It's that mob mentality that encourages brainless scum to take the law into their own hands.
How utterly sickening and heartbreaking too.
This morning I read a lovely post from Maggoty....so heart warming....then I read of this sickening and heart breaking event.

What a strange society we live in....so, so sad.
Reminds me of when a mob attacked the house of a paediatrician in Portsmouth. Never underestimate the general public's capacity for stupidity.
That is really sickening. What were they thinking?!
I think that's a fair point about his actual killing, ChillDoubt; but it's clear a mob had previously been after him, and these it seems these two were part of it. He was certainly a victim of "mobthink". And perhaps prejudice against the disabled or against foreigners? They must have thought he was somehow "different" and treated him the way you wouldn't treat a dog.
"That is really sickening. What were they thinking?!"

'Lets kill a paedophile' probably - I don't know how people can get to the first two words of that sentence without pausing for a moment to check their perspective.

But then, I don't imagine they care much for "perspective".
I wouldn't say a mob hade previously 'been after him'.
As ever in such cases, the curtain twitchers and nosey Parker's gathered round when ever there is such an arrest. Only 2 individuals were actually involved in his horrific murder.
Failure lies with the Police CBM's who should have ensured that the word was spread that this gentleman was arrested and quickly released after a case of wrongful arrest and had no case to answer.
Maybe that's why so many of them have been warned/censured.
This could all have been avoided had he not been arrested in the first place.

Mr Ebrahimi was taking photos of youths who were vandalising his hanging plants. Surely the first thing any copper with an ounce of common sense would do would be to ask to see the pictures (assuming it was a digital camera).

That would've cleared it up straight away, surely.

There are some astonishingly scumbag estates in the UK where common decency, education, intelligence and humanity are far beyond the reaches of the locals.

To be innocent, disabled and burned alive...words fail me.

No it is not, it is liberal judges and sentences that let them out to live amongst people without letting people know where they are.

When people are afraid they will lash out. You must remember that the general public is thick.

Deal properly with nonses and this terible problem will go away.
I can't agree with that analysis, ymb, because it signally fails to agree with what history teaches us. Punishment was far harsher back in the day. Did this lead to a mob mentality going away? Not in the slightest -- if anything, it led to the problem being exacerbated because such mobs effectively had the backing of the state.
Ymb....I don't see how your last sentence, if put into action, would have prevented this murder.

And I don't think they "lashed out" because they were afraid. Afraid of what in this instance?

jim, dont really follow your post.

gness, if paedo's aer dealt with correctly (we have seen them let out with a smack on the wrist) and then anyone on the sex offenders register was availabel for people to know where they were then you may find those will a lower brain may not feel they need to do something.

Afraid of what. Well in this instance it turns out nothing. But did they know that?

If you have children and there is a nonce in the street wouldn't you be afraid?

What's not to follow, ymb? You say that if the punishments are harsher than the mob mentality will go away. But historically that has never worked -- indeed, quite the reverse often. The harsher the state, the more violent its people in kind. To blame this on some sort of liberalisation is to ignore the fact that actually such incidents were far more common in the past -- hence the term "witch-hunting".

A register of paedophiles available openly has the advantage of making people aware of where they are, but such people also become targets, and if the mob knows where to find "undesirables", it won't take too long to hunt them down and persecute them. If you think that mobs will stop in a more Draconian society, you have another think coming.

youngmafbog - "Deal properly with nonses and this terible problem will go away."

That is a somewhat idealised notion of the way vigilantes think. Remove one cause for their self-righteousness, and they will soon find another.

" ... and then anyone on the sex offenders register was availabel for people to know where they were then you may find those will a lower brain may not feel they need to do something."

Seriously? These two individuals have managed to take some misunderstood information and observation and make two and two into 22, and murder an innocent person.

And you really think people like this should know where sex offenders are living?

Are you trying to solve the heating problems nationally? 'Cold missus? Pop along to the end of your street, there's a local paedophole bonfire where you can warm your hands and roast some jackets when the flames die down."

Have you thought this through?

"If you have children and there is a nonce in the street wouldn't you be afraid?"

Afraid? No. Concerned, yes, but concern does not equate with becoming an instant lynching party does it?
