Coram's Fields in London is named after Thomas Coram. I believe he founded an orphanage for London's stray children.

yeah if you go to Coram Field - Russell Sq tube - you can read a biog of the fella

Childless, 1750s and was particularly taken with fostering kids and giving them a chance.
