There are the shocking pictures of Cairo to fill their front pages now Sandy, and of course the royal baby. They like to make sure their readers dont get too bored by reporting the same things all the time. Civil wars get tedious after about 6 months and there is a risk that people might start trying to think of solutions ;-)

I see, as I suspected, that the killing goes on apace.
If anyone can think of a workable solution to Syria - and the rest of the middle east - they'll be a miracle worker!
Question Author
And there hasn't been one of them in the Middle East for a good 2000 years ;-)
.... and he was a trouble-maker.
I'm not suggesting anyone can find a solution to syria's woes but I think everyone should be trying to, and yes that includes the man in street.
Not just Syria the 83 or is it 93 ? year old Mugabe is looking for another term as president of Zimbabwe . Already there are reports of a shortage of ballot papers and 1,000s of people 'missing' from the voter register , surprise surprise all the 'problem areas' are the one where the opposition are expected to win.
He has already changed the constitution without any proper procedure to allow him to stand yet again.

its the politicians that need to sort this, get them round the negotiating table, sadly this will continue until some one does.
It won't work.
probably not, but someone has to try.. as to ordinary men in the street, how would that be possible, it's those at the top, the head of the military as in Egypt, and those leaders of each faction.. at least stop the violence, killings.
Em, the Middle East is a hopeless situation. There can be no compromise. The man in the street hasn’t a hope in hell – and neither does anyone else.
then what is to be done.
sandy//Is it still going on ? ) Yes but it's not New.
I wish I knew - I really do. If a solution is reached, it will only be temporary. For the rebels it is all or nothing - and if necessary they will bide their time. For them, life is cheap and the cause is all.
if we are talking of Syria who exactly are the rebels, from watching, reading the news, they appear to be many factions, each with their own agenda. If Assad were to go, surely that would be all out war.
You're right. There are several factions - and fundamentalist Islam is high on whatever agenda there is.
