My mum died a few days ago, and i have spent increasing time at the hospital over the last month. The last few days, i never left her side, day and night. My brother and i were with her at the end.
Unfortunately her sisters are being extremely unkind and the upshot is that I'm worried to death about the funeral etc.
My question is: I've got floaters in front of my eyes and am now worried about that! Is it just the stress and will go after the funeral? Could it be it be because i haven't slept properly for over a month? They're not all the time. Just the odd one! X

I hope he can reassure you. Just want to say I'm so sorry about your mum x
sad time for you and yours crisgirl, you'll be exhausted no doubt, you need to try and catch up on your sleep . easier said than done but a visit to your GP for yourself would be a wise move, you've alot to get through over the next week . sqad probably would be able to advise what to take to keep a migraine at bay, are you on any other meds?
I'm sure so, crisgal, I get floaters when I am very tired (I am very short-sighted so prone to them anyway).

My sincere sympathies to you regarding the loss of your mum - it's a sad and difficult time. x
So sorry to hear about your Mum, as Dot says, go and see your Doc, time to look after you now. X
So sorry for your loss xx
Chrisgal, sorry for your loss :(
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Do see your doctor, it is time for you now.xx
Condolences Crisgal, I am of the mind you are on the right track. Hopefully one of our resident medics will be along soon.
Crisgal, please accept my sympathies. x

Extreme tiredness may have something to do with these, get checked if you feel affected by them.
Thinking of you all crisgel - sorry to hear about your Mum. x
Sorry to hear your sad news and that your mother's sitters are being so unkind, x

AAh bless you all! I'm crying now with all your lovely words. Wasn't expecting that! Thank you xx
As regards the unkind relatives, stay true to what your dear Mum would have wanted and do not rise to their bait - you did all you could, remember that. ♥

No other meds, I've managed to stop taking mirtazepine after almost 20 years so was hoping to cope med-free. I had pre eclampsia with two of my children and they were always asking me about floaters, so thought I'd better ask. Oh, and I'm short sighted too x
Very sad to hear, be strong I'm sure you and your brother will give your mum a good send off and the stress will ease x
Floaters are extremely common and may be associated with diabetes and high BP but more commonly are just a sign of the ageing process.

there is no need for medical treatment as in the vast majority of cases, they will either disappear or you will get used to them. IF you get flashes in the eye, white flashes like cameras going off, or a part of your vision is obscured, then you will need to see a doctor.
That situation is extremely uncommon.

Sorry about the death of your mother.
Crisgal, so sorry for your loss. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Make an appointment with your optician if you're really worried. Let us know how you get on?xx
Crisgal... tell her sisters politely but firmly you and your brother will be sorting things out and while they will be welcome at the funeral they will not be involved in any aspect of the planning..

If they continue to be unkind perhaps your brother can deal with them. Right now you need a bit of quiet time.. some sleep and what ever support you can muster... Don't worry over things you can do nothing about do what needs to be done. You have my sympathy though death bring out the worst in some people
crisgal.im sorry to hear about your mother, but im so glad you and your brother stayed with her all that time, im sure she is proud of you both, take care , anne,
Sending you lots of love at this sad time xxxx
