Is it right to allow these 'paid' foreign employees of the UK, the right to reside in this country?

It is said they will receive free travel to the UK and accommodation paid for their first three months.

Who will be paying after those three months expire? I think you have got it in one.

/// And we are supposed to be a country that values fairness and justice. Those are values worth having - not knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing.... ///

And how many times we have been kicked in the teeth for possessing those values, or are you one that believes in 'turning the other cheek'?

In that dust bowl of a country even our trust in their Army and Police have ended up in the murder of our own countrymen, how can we now be certain that amongst these interpreters there are not agents working for the Taliban, think of all the vital information they could gather in their position?
I don't suppose anyone else has thought of that..

/// Given that they are English speakers, they are probably more in touch with Western values than your average Afghan. ///

Being in touch with Western values means very little, have we not some who have been born and educated here, but are still are not in touch with Western values, more to our cost?
Good point, the interpreters are high value assets. On the day we finally withdraw we should line them up and shoot them, that will sort the problem.......it's better to be safe than sorry, eh?
What you haven't noticed is that these will all be chaps and chaps have families, extended families, dependants etc. so there could be a million coming.

/// Regardless of whether or not you wish it, some are now coming. I hope you won't make them feel too unwelcome. ///

Unwelcome? I am hoisting my Afghan flag as I type.
"have we not some who have been born and educated here, but are still are not in touch with Western values, more to our cost? "

I'd put it to you that there's a significant difference between Islamic thugs who are born here, and are born into speaking English, and people who risk their lives and their safety to learn English, and then go on to risk their lives in fighting the taliban.
Aog, you speculated that these men would be in danger in this country. Now you speculate that some may present a danger to the country. What is the evidence to justify these speculations?

aog, what are your answers to my questions at 14.26, about where you stand?
/how many times we have been kicked in the teeth for possessing those values/

So in aog's mind, Values are flexible, negotiable and something that can be reneged

That's a horrible, defeatist, cowardly attitude

No wonder aog is suggesting breaking the tryst that exists between colleagues under fire

Truly despicable!
Whilst not keen to have more folk coming into this overcrowded country, an exception has to be made for those who have risked their life providing a service to this country. Not that, that should be the ticket to a cost free life evermore, but having the State provide whilst they settle in, is no big deal. After that any complaint you have has to be a general one with the Welfare System rather than with these individuals specifically.

/// I'll ask you again - how do you think a soldier who served alongside them would feel? Zeuhl knows one and has reported his opinion. What's your reaction to that? ///

Enough to say that I know not one but many, most say they can't be trusted, and that is not a myth but a reality, that can be proven without a doubt.

It amazes me how many voice their opinions as truth but know very little on the subject, take the reason we are out there, some have said "invasion" with no proof whatsoever, "Police action" again without any proof, "Overseas military adventure" what can one say?

But then we have the politicians, "in revenge for the Twin tower attack" "to eliminate the terrorist threat" "to quell the heroin supply", "get Al-Qaeda's leader, Osama bin Laden" "to stop the flow of terrorists, including British citizens, from training camps inside the country" " at the request of the Afghan government", and finally "to make UK streets safer".

Confused well it is understandable.

"To cut off the drug passage to the West", "In retaliation for the attacks on the US mainland on 11 September 2001" ."To get Bin Larden",

Lower paragraph the remains of a cut & paste exercise.
/I know not one but many, most say they can't be trusted, and that is not a myth but a reality, that can be proven without a doubt. /

Wonder why aog imagines his anecdotal opinions are worth any more than mine or anyone else's

also, and here's a tip for aog, if you are going to claim that something 'can be PROVEN without a doubt'

it is a good idea if you include some EVIDENCE or a link to a supporting information, otherwise it looks like you're just a bullsh1tter

And why such a generalised opinion would be applied to every individual is a mystery best known to the foolish anyway

Perm any stupid generalised prejudice from this selection aog?

'Interpreters/Afghans/Muslims/W0gs/Foreigners just can't be trusted'

ummmm

/// You did have a post removed and you said about someone being allowed to stay here and 'dilute our ethnicity' not 'our racial purity'.///

/// It cannot be proven because it was removed pretty quickly. ///

Yes thanks for that ummmm I do remember saying that, but I wonder if it was removed because of that, (when I have seen much worse), or did someone put something that was offensive, or did someone report it for some reason?

But when some can twist 'dilute our ethnicity' into 'our racial purity' one can see what trouble that could cause.
Dilute our ethnicity and our racial purity...don't they have a pretty similar meaning?
perhaps aog can explain to ummm

why 'ethnic purity' is any different to 'racial purity'
AOG have you gone on a gobbledygook rampage?

I had assumed your post regarding the machete murderer in Coventry was removed because of your inexplicable alignment (within the question) towards white supremacy.
