Personally I thought these sentences were harsh in the first place, but if you're given an 8 month sentence wouldn't it make sense to serve more than a quarter of it?

Note the headline,

/// Vicky Pryce says she will enjoy a cup of coffee after her early release from prison as her disgraced MP ex-husband walks free just 62 days into his eight-month jail term ///

Wasn't she also 'disgraced'

the bigger they are, the more disgraceful the fall; Pryce wasn't anyone but Huhne was in the cabinet.

"Walks free" is Mailese for not being in durance vile; being electronically tagged isn't quite what I'd call free.
Even our open prisons must be full ! Makes no sense to have anyone serve only about a quarter of the term of imprisonment actually inside and then have them tagged and curfewed for another period. It's either a jail term or it isn't.
and they have both said they intend to write books about their time in jail

....so, looks like crime probably will pay
/Wasn't she also 'disgraced' /

aog: I think if you read it properly you'll find that Vicky Pryce wasn't an MP -

'disgraced' or otherwise
Curfew is a nightmare for the rest of the household.
if they do write books about their time in prison it will only be a short story.

Short ones presumably.

You beat me to it baz.
A couple of chattering roasters, best ignored till they go away.

/// and they have both said they intend to write books about their time in jail ///

More of a short story I would have thought.

Wow sorry for the repeat joke, amazing how quick things move on.
Will Huhne's book be called; 'Paying the Pryce'
@Zeuhl - Very droll! :)
Strange to hear Pryce's solicitor in the statement refer to those inside with her as 'residents'.

They were known as inmates when I went to school, residents live in a nursing home!
A pretty sleazy couple - they should be made to remarry - serve them right!

A book about their experience of a few weeks need not be short.

James Joyce's Ulysses describes one man's experiences on just one day. And the Huhne-Pryce efforts will be unreadable too. I wonder whether they'll get Jeffery Archer to ghost write for them.
Anyone else notice that this couple are white ?
Well, that buggers up the national crime figures doesn't it !
especially if they now join London knife gangs, mikey
