oh dear! My question on this subject was removed yesterday so good luck with this one!
Define "we"...
Danger, to be fair AOG has phrased it in a more sensible way.
Still a long way to go.

At 45% of the population 'white Britons' are still the largest ethnic group in London.

I think to be a 'protected species' you need to be incapable of breeding and virtually extinct.

You're in that category are you aog?
this was linked to the thread that went west yesterday, on the flight of the white British, some say it's not to do with indigenous white folk moving out because of immigration, but that they are more aspirational, upwardly mobile, so are, have moved out the capital to the suburbs, and the sticks for a better standard of life..
I must admit to having an attempt at 70's jive humour yesterday having recently watched live and let die, unfortunately there did appear to be a nostalgia/humor/irony bypass in operation.
danger, perhaps it all got rather hot under the collar, it was a shame because i actually think it was bringing some good viewpoints across.
Why am I thinking of dinosaurs?
the word wasn't so much the problem, at least i don't think so, and the person who was offended by it shouldn't have been. It was honky before anyone says, and not oft used in Britain, except on those American tv cop shows like Hill St Blues, a favourite, and Starsky and Hutch...
AOG.......for the past 8 years ABers have implied:

We are safer than we were 50 years ago

There is less violent crime than there was 50 years ago.

That our NHS is the "Envy of the World"

That Islamisation is not a problem for the UK

I think we will be protected in the future.

Don't you?
well really it was just one person who didn't seem to get it. I suppose that's the problem with the written word.
It was a good thread, all you have to do is remember what you said and type it all again. :)
sqad, actually i don't..
I really don't see the point of posting these scare mongering articles. Britain has always been open to immigration and always benefited from it. We need more and we will get more. We lost any hope of being British a long time ago. If it makes you feel any better the situation is similar here in France in the main cities.
If you think that our system is going to fall apart then you are deluded. The more immigrants the better and when we have more immigrant mp's ( which we will) then the world will live more in harmony.

What exactly are you scared of?
there you go again saying how much better we will be with more people on this speck of land, France and Germany are a good deal larger land wise, so can accommodate more, and besides which i don't see Frau Merkel particularly welcoming to the immigrants in her midst, at least not the article i read a while back...

would that like London or live in London?

Speck of land?

What a load of nonsense!

Do you know what the population of Wiltshire is?

No? Do you care? No?

Right because what the population of the country is - this so called 'speck of land' is entirely irrelevant

and as pointless as looking at the size of France and Germany - as it happens Germany has a very similar population density to us and Belgium is much more!

What is important is the population density in our towns and cities where most of us live.

Paris for example is way more crowded that London - but the issue for both is not how many people are living in our meagre(?) 100,000 square miles

The question is how we can get them all to spread out and stop squashing up London and the South East!

How about a lifetime's supply of thermal underwear and a lobotomy?
