I've been using the same set in my xbox controller for around 3 years and havent noticed any loss of lifespan.

They are the NiCad ones rather than alkaline though which last alot longer. I also use them in my handheld GPS.

Just make sure you charge them fully rather than bunging them on for a few hours. Takes about 12 hours to fully charge.

Not sure its my batteries fading or not. They keep going dull in my walkman making it seem their on their way out!!!
Maybe I need a new walkman then. Will give the 4 batteries use , a fulll blast of charge again then. Many thanks again x

Whoops--AA Batteries
This may be a bit late pusskin, but before you go paying out foe another walkman, it might be advisable to try some non-chargeable batteries in it first to see how long they last.
They can be quite a reasonable price these days and could save you a bob or two in the long run.

Apologies for delay in getting back parkdale.
I really dont fancy non rechargable batteries, but thanks for the tip.
Booldawg, I recharged 4 batteries overnight till light went out and their fine now. No problem listening to tapes last night.
Thank god I didnt invest in a new walkman, mine is fine now x
