Just bought a camera that takes four AA batteries.

I have bought a battery charger with 4 NimH AA batteries but never used re-chargable batteries before.

Any advice about charging or discharging ?

I seem to remember reading somewhere about the importantance of the first charge, or making sure they are fully discharged before recharging.

Any advice for getting the best out of them ?

Hi, the charger should have come with an instruction booklet as its v.important, batteries can explode.

Mine says fora 1.2v Ni-MH battery the following:
2100 mAh = 10 hours charge time
3500 mAh = 18 hours "
4000 mAh = 21 hours "
9V Ni-MH Battery of 200 mAh = 22 hours charge time.

Does the charger have a discharge function on it? mine says to discharge but ,not completely, before re-charging to prolong the battery life.
Maybe if you google the manufacturer and model of the charger there will be on-line help or a booklet?
