at least she is well out of danger, i wonder if she will return to her homeland one day.
Good news indeed.
from the looks of the photograph it would appear that the left side of her face is paralysed.....not such good news for a young woman.
Question Author
no, but she is alive, considering she was shot in the head is a miracle, and i am not much into miracles.
I can't see that she'll be allowed to go home for the foreseeable future, em - she's a high profile target now, having gained so much bad publicity for the Taliban.
They have an excellent nuerosurgical sp at the Q E em.
Question Author
i can't see her going home either, the Taliban would likely finish the job, what a sad indictment of their attitude towards women.

Sqad, that may just be lop sided smile, if she was shot in the left side of the brain wouldn't that have affected the right side of her face or is that not necessarily the case? Just curious.

Gromit......;-)
Question Author
isn't it just, i hope that she has a good life, career, wherever she settles, and makes use of a decent education and goes on to inspire other girls, women.
Gromit, what a particularly nasty comment, this is an innocent girl of 15 years old!!
Question Author
Gromit, that is a singularly vile comment.
Question Author
maligned another user into the bargain.
Lol @ Gromit.
Gromit's comment was obviously a joke ... if you find it distasteful you should just ignore it
RATTER...could be a lop sided smile.

No, if the shot hit the facial nerve outside the brain on the left then the left side of the face would be involved.

If she could move close left eye....then the damage would be inside the brain, as that part of the face is bilaterally represented in the cortex of the brain.

If she cannot close her eye then the facial nerve on the same side has been damaged.

Sqad, just seen the video, clearly some paralysis going on there. I just hope it isnt permanent.
Question Author
this is a good story, if you have rude comments or malign other users who have not said a word, for once keep them to yourself.
