I think Ric.ror has the measure of it there
Sandy :-))
if they are sent to languish in durance vile, I am sure their friend Mr Cameron will visit them, possibly on horseback
Yes, because, if convicted, the defendants will have been shown to have had a wide network of corrupt or corrupted individuals under their control from journalists to palace staff to, it appears from the enquiry, police, which is far worse than just getting the benefit of some journalists' hacking of phones.
IMHO there's little doubt that these two will have stripey suntans in the near future.

As long as he doesn't come riding to the rescue with pardons in his saddlebags
Just on the TV news, they are two of several.
Porridge will be the plat de jour eventually......imho. However, even if found guilty I imagine the appeal process will go on for ever.
.... I like porridge....especially with some fruit and nuts in it.
LOL Sandy now what was that short for, again?
Can't think the appeal process will go on forever; these people aren't illegal immigrants or promoters of terrorism !

Leave to appeal would take a month or so to come through; the appeal itself would be short, if against sentence, maybe a full day if against conviction, there being several appellants but only the same points covering all. That would be listed perhaps a month later in this case. Their Lordships might defer their judgments on conviction for a while; though they often don't; so maybe a couple of weeks. Leave to go to the Supreme Court will be refused . End of case.
