This man is apparently very well known to all in the village so why didn't the kids say April got in mr Bridgers car? Why say it was a light coloured car when it was dark?

I don't know if he is a family friend, but it was said he was known to them and April was friends with some of his children.

Who knows what the kids really said, and they are kids, they get muddled.

None of us know a single thing about it other than what he has been arrested for.

children don't necessarily recognise types of car, light or dark perhaps, but this was at night, so it was dark already. And they were little children, weren't they?

I read today she was out late because she got a good report at school so as a treat she was allowed to stay out to play with her friends.

7pm and it was dark, her parents were at a school meeting if you believe the news reports.

Her parents went to a parents evening at the school (I assumed with her) and because she got a good report they allowed her to play outside later than normal. This is from the Daily Mail so who knows really.

Maybe he thinks he will get away with it if they can't find her.

In one article it said he lived next door to them at some point and some of his children live on the same estate and played with April.

If at some time he had lived next door to them you would have thought the child or other children would have known him and said to the police that April got into MB's car wouldn't you?

It's not unlike the police to throw out a bit of false information.

they will not have charged him unless they think there is a good chance of conviction. It won't be down to the police, it will be down to the CPS. The fact that they have charged with child abduction and perverting the course of justice says to me that that they are not sure of a murder charge getting home, at the moment at least.

Charged with perverting the course of justice very possibly because he admitted picking the girl up but then gave a misleading account of what happened next.
