I dont find anything good about it.

As someone who lives on the edge of Birmingham I just hate the fact we have people like this living in this country.

But then our immigration control has been so lax and badly run for the last 20 or 30 years (under both the tories and labour) that it is no surpsire we have people like this living here.

It is almost like we have left the countries front door open and offered anyone the chance to just stroll in.

When we leave our own house we always shut our front door to control who enters, a pity we do not do the same with the country.

Still we are now stuck with them, mores the pity.
Didn't this get covered earlier?

I think it would have been "good news" if the whole thing hadn't happened in the first place.
Should have jailed those also in the public gallery who threatened the lawyers etc after the sentencing.
Well they certainly deserve stiff sentences but there is a surprising range here

20 years seems roughly appropriate - I am left wondering why the one was thought worthy of 30
Its a case of 80% nature and 20% nurture. You can blame the environment for bringing louts like this into our society but there is not much you can do about genetics which turn them into violent thugs.

It's probably because he has ten previous convictions for shooting at the police, and they've finally decided the holidays in centreparcs aren't working, so they've just thought 'f*ck it, let's put him in prison for a long time'.
You often wonder about variations and what to you seem unreasonable discrepancies in sentencing, jake.

That's because you only have about two paragraphs of carefully edited material concerning the incident whereas the trials in such cases usually last a number of weeks.
